Industrial Mechanical Engineer

Our Houston client is seeking an Industrial Mechanical Engineer to design and support process heating, cooling, piping, and utility systems for industrial and EPC projects. This role involves end-to-end engineering support, from design development through project execution, while serving as a key technical resource for project teams, vendors, and customers.

This is a long-term contract of 12+ months with great pay, benefits, and PTO.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design process heating, cooling, piping, and utility systems
• Develop and manage engineering deliverables (GA drawings, P&IDs, isometrics, 2D/3D models, plant layouts, MTOs, and datasheets)
• Perform PRV calculations, nozzle load analysis, and pipe support design
• Support chilled water and refrigeration systems (chillers, cooling towers, pumps, tanks, etc.)
• Coordinate with vendors, project managers, and field teams throughout execution
• Participate in design reviews and provide technical solutions to optimize project value

Requirements:

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering
• 5–10 years of engineering or construction experience
• Strong knowledge of HVAC/refrigeration, hydronics, and psychrometrics
• Experience with AutoCAD, Plant 3D, Revit, Pipe Flo, or similar tools
• Familiarity with ASME/API standards and 3D modeling for chiller plants
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
