Stantec is a recognized industry leader in delivering important water resources projects of varying sizes and complexity across the globe. Our Water business is rapidly growing in Texas, and we have an exciting opportunity for a Water Resources/Hydrology & Hydraulics (H&H) Team Lead with an emphasis on developing high performing teams, executing strategic water resources projects, and growing Texas accounts.
This individual will manage, execute, and help win water resources studies and projects including H&H, stormwater and flood management, riverine floodplain modeling and mapping, green stormwater infrastructure, environmental/stream restoration, drainage and pump stations, and provide support, guidance and mentoring to a team of talented water resources professionals. The successful candidate will be someone with strong leadership and communication skills, technical experience in H&H (modeling and design), and a successful history of leading and mentoring a diverse team.
The ideal candidate will have at least 15 years of work experience directly related to water resources engineering.
Your key responsibilities include managing water resources, H&H, and stormwater/drainage projects of varying complexity within multidisciplinary teams. You will manage and lead other team members while working on projects, complete tasks and delegate specific project tasks to other team members as appropriate. You will provide supervision, training, technical direction and mentoring to junior and intermediate level staff and develop high-performing project teams.
You will deliver and oversee complex water projects across multiple sectors, serving as Sr Project Manager, Sr Technical Leader, or Principal-in-Charge capacities. You will provide technical review of project deliverables and products such as H&H models, feasibility studies, and project design packages. You will prepare project deliverables and ensure that projects' needs are met in a timely and effective manner.
You will participate in marketing efforts and business development including relationship development, proposal preparation, and participation in interviews. You will contribute to the branding and reputation of Stantec in Texas through leadership and involvement in related industry organizations and professional societies. You will contribute to the growth of the Texas water resources team through talent recruitment, development, and mentoring. You will develop and maintain a strong business culture that reinforces our corporate values and is supportive of our team's needs.
Your capabilities and credentials include passion for and significant experience in water resources-related projects with a focus on project delivery for flood risk management, drainage designs, stream bank restoration and protection, stormwater management, regulatory compliance, green stormwater infrastructure, and nature-based solutions. You must have strong oral and written communication skills, and be customer focused to understand and appropriately respond to client's business needs.
You will have strong leadership, team building and communication skills on complex projects with an emphasis on technical and project delivery excellence. You will have excellent organizational, technical writing, and verbal communication skills. You will have experience executing water resources projects in a senior technical and/or management capacity. You will be able to solve complex problems using sound professional judgment, creativity, and innovation.
You will be able to check the work of others for accuracy and completeness and manage time to meet project budget and schedule. You will be able to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought.…
