We are seeking a Post Doctoral Fellow to work on mechanics of the respiratory system.
The project combines theoretical development, image analysis, and computer simulation.
Responsibilities- Develop kinematic models and constitutive relations of various organs and tissues of the respiratory system: lungs, diaphragm, airways, and chest rib cage.
- Reconstruction of the geometric shapes of the organs of the respiratory system from the CT images.
- Develop finite element codes to simulate the function of the respiratory system.
- Publish in peer‑reviewed journals and support proposal writing.
- PhD in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
- Strong background in solid mechanics and computational mechanics.
- Clear and clean English skills as supported by adequate publication record.
- Familiarity with biomechanics and biomedical engineering.
- Experience with 3D scanning systems.

Requires singular knowledge of a specialized advanced professional discipline or the highest level of general business knowledge, normally acquired through attainment of a directly job‑related terminal degree or equivalent formal training in a recognized field of specialization that is directly related to the type of work being performed. No experience is required.
