We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Structural Engineer to join the JETSII Contract!

This is a part-time temporary role not to exceed 30 weeks

The Senior Structural Engineer will:

* Provide support to NASA/ES to Review of Commercial Crew Stress Reports to support first flight NET Jan 2024

* Review of components and subsystem hardware designs

* Prior Experience reviewing Structural verification plans and structural analysis for NASA spaceflight hardware

* Fracture Control experience for spaceflight hardware, understand of NASA fracture control requirements and implementation

* Review Structural Analysis Reports and create a spreadsheet database with comments and questions

* Meet with Sierra to resolve comments and questions as needed

* Perform other duties as required

Requisition

Qualifications:

* Typically requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in Engineering and may be expected to have a related master's or higher degree and normally possess 15+ years of related experience

* BSME in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering

Requisition Preferences:

* 15+ years experience in NASA Spaceflight hardware structures and analysis

Essential Functions

Work Environment

Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).

Equipment and Machines

Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).

Attendance

Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.

Other Essential Functions

Professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.
