Heerema Marine Contractors is seeking an experienced Marine Engineer to join its Houston-based team. This role supports the development of offshore transportation, installation, and removal solutions for fixed and floating structures across the offshore energy sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Motions analyses for vessels, cargo, and lifted objects.
- Conduct towing analyses, including tug requirements, stability, and tow characteristics.
- Develop ballasting sequences for floating-structure installation and removal operations.
- Perform mooring-line installation and removal analyses for floating facilities (FPUs, SPARs, etc).
- Conduct environmental statistics and weather downtime assessments.
- Provide offshore representation and technical guidance to Vessel Management Teams and crew.
This position offers technically challenging work in a fast-paced project environment and requires strong technical judgment, attention to detail, and effective communication.
Minimum Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree from an accredited university in Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering, or a related discipline.
Ideal candidates will have 3 to 8 years of relevant experience. Preferred qualifications/experience include:
- Design or analysis of floating structures.
- Programming and data analysis in MATLAB or Python.
- Orca Flex experience.
- Working knowledge of ABS, DNV, API, ISO, and related industry standards.
- Knowledge of hydrodynamic and stability software such as MOSES, WAMIT, or Hydro
D. - Experience with 3D CAD software such as Multisurf or Rhino.
Travel is dependent upon executable projects year to year, and ranges from 0 to 15%.
