About the Opportunity

We are seeking a technically driven Field Service Engineer to support the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimisation of advanced semiconductor manufacturing equipment across Texas.

This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer who enjoys working hands‑on with complex technology and wants to develop deep expertise in plasma processing, thin‑film deposition, vacuum systems, and semiconductor manufacturing equipment.

You will support advanced etch, deposition, and surface treatment systems used in both research and high-volume production environments. These technologies enable next-generation applications, including power semiconductors (SiC/GaN), RF devices, MEMS, microLEDs, and advanced semiconductor packaging.

Working as a trusted technical partner to customers, you will be responsible for ensuring equipment performance, maximising system uptime, and delivering expert-level support throughout the equipment lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, and qualify Plasma Etch & CVD Deposition Systems at customer sites
  • Perform system setup, calibration, testing, and acceptance activities.
  • Ensure tools meet operational and process performance requirements.
Technical Troubleshooting & Maintenance
  • Diagnose and resolve complex equipment issues across:
  • Electrical systems
  • Mechanical assemblies
  • RF power systems
  • Automation and control systems
  • Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, upgrades, and system optimisation.
Customer Support & Training
  • Act as the primary technical contact for customers, providing professional field support.
  • Deliver customer training on equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Build strong relationships with customer engineers and operators.
Process & Applications Support
  • Support customers with plasma process optimisation and equipment performance improvements.
  • Provide technical insight into thin‑film deposition and etching applications.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering, applications, and sales teams to resolve technical challenges.
  • Maintain accurate service reports, equipment history, and configuration records.
  • Support improvements to installation procedures, manuals, and technical documentation.
  • Provide feedback to engineering teams to improve future equipment designs.
Required Experience & Qualifications
  • 2+ years of hands‑on experience supporting semiconductor process equipment.
  • Experience with semiconductor manufacturing systems, such as:
  • Strong troubleshooting experience across electrical, mechanical, and software-controlled systems.
Experience with one or more of the following is highly desirable
  • RF generators and matching networks
  • Vacuum pumps and pressure control
  • PLCs and automation systems
  • Semiconductor robotics
Education
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related technical discipline.
  • An associate degree with strong relevant industry experience will also be considered.
Additional requirements
  • Strong communication and customer-facing skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a field environment.
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced technical setting.
  • Willingness to travel extensively.
  • Performance-based bonus opportunity (up to 10%)
  • Retirement savings plan
  • Life insurance coverage
  • Paid holidays, vacation, and sick leave
  • Ongoing technical training and career development opportunities
  • International training opportunities
  • Long-term career growth within the semiconductor industry
