Job Description Summary
The Global Process Engineer (GPE) will work closely with the Global Manufacturing Engineering Leader to develop and deploy global standards that improve the reliability, availability, and performance of Aero Alliance’s manufacturing equipment and processes. The role focuses on analyzing data, working cross‑functionally to implement proactive measures, and driving cost reduction through standardization of equipment and processes. The GPE will also be a focal point for new technology introductions, asset transfers, and new process introductions, including lead time, technology selection, and recommendations for fixturing, tooling, process, control plans, and qualifications of manufacturing assets.
The position coaches and influences a dotted‑line organization of factory manufacturing engineers across Aero Alliance factories, and requires strong analytical skills, lean methodology, and a commitment to creating process standards for equipment (“One Product One Process”) to drive SQDC in line with business and functional objectives.
- Develop, qualify, and improve manufacturing processes.
- Define global process and equipment standards and deploy them across factories.
- Control and communicate global processes for manufacturing assets, including facility integration, acceptance testing, machine health checks & calibrations, preventative maintenance plans, spare parts strategy, and technical/technology training.
- Validate engineering specifications and shop‑floor application of new processes.
- Partner with EHS, manufacturing engineers, quality, materials, industrialization, and sourcing teams to develop new repair processes and qualifications.
- Develop and implement reliability improvement strategies using FMEA and RCA.
- Collaborate with maintenance, operations, engineering, and safety teams to design and implement preventive and predictive programs.
- Drive continuous‑improvement initiatives to reduce equipment downtime and improve quality processes.
- Lead investigations into failures and chronic issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Provide technical support for asset management, including equipment life‑cycle analysis and spare parts optimization.
- Train local factory manufacturing engineers.
- Participate in the design and installation of new equipment and implementation of processes, ensuring reliability is considered from the outset (Design for Reliability).
- Interpret internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices.
- Stay informed of industry trends that may inform work.
- Make decisions and handle complex tasks with high judgment.
- Lead functional teams or projects with minimal resources, risk, and/or complexity.
- Communicate difficult concepts and influence others’ decision‑making.
- 7+ years of industrial experience in manufacturing or quality.
- 5+ years in a technical role (manufacturing engineer or similar) with expertise in welding & heat treatment.
- Strong knowledge of engineering concepts and quality processes.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, drawings, and schematics.
- Project management skills and experience.
- Engage Six Sigma methodology (DFSS) and lean principles (3P, TPM, Jidoka, PQ/PR, Takt Cycle, Standard Work, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, 4D/8D/A3, Poka Yoke).
- For US candidates – 10+ years of technical experience, direct leadership of professionals and production employees, coaching and influencing others, leading Kaizen teams, experience with Zero Defect framework, strong oral and written communication, interpersonal and leadership skills, ability to coordinate multiple projects, managed cost center or P&L, analytical and organizational ability, deep manufacturing technical expertise.
- For Non‑US candidates – significant years of technical experience, welding & heat treatment expertise, direct leadership experience, coaching, Kaizen leadership, Zero Defect framework, strong communication, capable of managing multiple projects, cost center or P&L experience, analytical skills, deep technical knowledge.
- Travel: approximately 25%.
Relocation assistance is provided. Compensation is between $104,600 and $174,400 with geographical differential. Bonus eligibility is discretionary annual bonus.
