WSP is seeking a Ports and Marine Senior Lead Engineer/Project Manager to work in various U.S. locations including Raleigh, Miami/Tampa, Houston, San Diego/Irvine. The role is part of WSP’s Maritime group, a leading provider of waterfront structural design solutions for U.S. Navy, port authorities, and other maritime clients.
Responsibilities- Independently perform and supervise structural analysis and design for marine and upland components.
- Independently conduct berthing and mooring analyses.
- Lead development of plans, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates for port and Navy projects.
- Apply maritime codes and references including UFC, PIANC, and ASCE-61.
- Prepare basis of design, design calculations, technical reports, alternatives analysis, and study reports.
- Ensure QA/QC reviews for interdisciplinary requirements on port projects.
- Attend client meetings and perform site visits.
- Mentor developing port and maritime engineers.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, adhering to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in analysis and design of port structures.
- Licensed Professional Engineer.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Track record of upholding workplace safety and adherence to WSP’s health, safety, and harassment policies.
- Master’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
- Experience in analysis and design of medium to large scale port, maritime, or Navy structures and preparation of plans, specifications, and estimates.
- Involvement in national professional practice organizations.
- Hands‑on experience with analysis and design software such as SAP
2000, OPTIMOOR, L-PILE, and SLIDE.
