Overview
Chevron is one of the world’s leading integrated energy companies. For the 2026‑2027 season, we are accepting online applications for Petroleum Engineer Interns located in Houston, Texas and Covington, Louisiana. Interns join multi‑disciplinary teams and contribute to asset development, production operations, reserves, and capital project development.
Responsibilities- Participate in production and reservoir engineering assignments focused on asset development planning, production operations, reserves, uncertainty and risk management, and capital project development.
- Collaborate with petroleum engineers, geologists, geophysicists, facility engineers, drilling and completion engineers, data scientists, and software developers.
- Work on projects that match your degree and prior internship experience; projects may be field or office‑based.
- Receive mentorship to guide your project work.
- Possibly perform routine driving activities as required.
- Required: Students pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline with strong academic performance and skills in communication, leadership, teamwork, and problem‑solving.
- Preferred: Experience in research, technology development, consulting, or an integrated oil or international service company intern program; participation in an industry or energy company university research project.
The anticipated monthly (hourly) compensation range is $35.20/hour – $10,200 monthly for U.S. payroll offers. Compensation is determined by discipline, degree level and academic year. Relocation and TravelRelocation may be considered within Chevron parameters. Positions may require routine driving.
