Responsibilities:
Design and support mechanical and process systems for commercial and industrial applications.
Develop engineering calculations, equipment selections, process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and system layouts.
Support chilled water, hydronic, HVAC, industrial process, and energy-related system designs.
Coordinate with internal engineering teams, project managers, contractors, and customers throughout the project lifecycle.
Review project specifications, drawings, and customer requirements to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.
Assist with equipment sizing, piping design, and system optimization.
Provide technical support during project execution, installation, commissioning, and startup activities.
Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and coordination efforts.
Troubleshoot mechanical and process system issues and recommend effective solutions.
Maintain accurate engineering documentation and project records.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practices.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field required.
3+ years of mechanical or process engineering experience preferred.
Experience with commercial HVAC systems, industrial process systems, or mechanical system design preferred.
Knowledge of piping systems, pumps, heat exchangers, chilled water systems, and process equipment.
Familiarity with engineering software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design platforms preferred.
Understanding of applicable industry codes, standards, and safety regulations.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus but not required.
Preferred
Skills:
Experience in industrial manufacturing, energy, chemical, or HVAC-related industries.
Knowledge of system commissioning and startup procedures.
Experience supporting design-build or turnkey project environments.
Familiarity with controls integration and energy-efficient system design.
