As a Bid Manager Specialist, you'll shape the technical and commercial proposals that win new equipment business for Siemens Energy. You'll bring deep technical expertise to Centrifugal Compressor applications, guide clients through complex decisions, and translate engineering solutions into compelling, competitive offers. Working across a global team, you'll help set Siemens Energy apart in the market — and directly drive new business in the process.

How

You’ll Make an Impact
  • Review and interpret client requisitions and specifications for new equipment — including centrifugal compressors and motors — across Decarbonization, Upstream, Midstream, and Downstream applications in the Energy, Oil & Gas, and Petrochemical markets.
  • Develop solutions through technical expertise that technically and commercially differentiate Siemens Energy's offerings from the competition. Develop equipment selections using Siemens Energy's in‑house technical tools.
  • Lead Bid Strategy discussions for new turbo opportunities, articulating the technical and value advantages of Siemens Energy’s products and services.
  • Prepare Buyout RFQs (request for quotation) and negotiate with major sub‑suppliers to secure solutions that benefit both the client and Siemens Energy.
  • Collaborate with engineering to identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and prepare technical/execution risk assessments.
  • Direct the integration of technical activities and vendor‑supplied equipment into regional proposals — ensuring every technical and commercial proposal meets Siemens Energy's standards for quality, completeness, and timeliness. Actively participate in client clarification and kick‑off meetings.
What You Bring
  • A degree in Mechanical, Petrochemical, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution, or equivalent work experience, with 5+ years in a relevant role. Candidates with more experience may be considered for a higher level.
  • Background in roles such as Proposal Engineer, Application Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, Process Engineer, Design Engineer, or Project Engineer, Commissioning/Field Engineer, with a concentration in turbo‑machinery or related rotating equipment (e.g., Centrifugal Compressors/ Pumps, Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines, etc.)
  • Strong problem‑solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
  • A global mindset and comfort collaborating across cultures and time zones.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% globally for project presentations, bid clarifications, training, and kickoff meetings.
Preferred Skills/Knowledge/Experience
  • Experience with OEMs, LNG, or EPC projects.
  • Understanding of pricing, costing and equipment selection.
  • Knowledge of commercial or technical bidding or quoting.
  • International experience.
  • In addition to fluency in English, proficiency in a second language is considered an asset.
