Job Summary
Process Analyzer FEED Engineer responsible for consulting on green and brown field projects, including measurement requirements analysis, process composition, analytical technology specification, system integration guidance, scope development, and budgetary estimate. The role involves field visits to review existing equipment, recommend new sample points, prepare datasheets, and support design and installation activities.
Responsibilities- Analyze measurement requirements and process composition/physical properties.
- Specify analytical technology and integrate system solutions.
- Develop scope, budget estimate, and environmental reporting requirements.
- Prepare equipment datasheets, preliminary designs, and BOMs.
- Conduct site walk‑downs, review sample points, and recommend new designs.
- Plan field bundle routing and collect customer data for documentation.
- Review and troubleshoot existing equipment, capture changes in redline drawings.
- Detail utilities for new or modified equipment and supervise installation.
- Communicate project requirements to internal Valmet teams and customers.
- Provide onsite support for scope development and training of project staff.
- Approve material requisitions and support production and testing phases.
- Finalize design documentation to represent “as built” condition.
- BS Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or Physics.
- 10+ years experience in analyzer project engineering.
- Strong knowledge of analytical technology/system integration.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience with AutoCAD, Solid Edge/Solidworks, ChemCAD; knowledge of Visual Basic is a plus.
- Ability to perform calculations for sample lag time, pressure drop, line sizing, dewpoint, utility sizing, electrical sizing, and panel board loading.
- Read and understand end‑user P&IDs and project specifications.
- Knowledge of NEC, IEC, API, NFPA, ISA codes; hazardous area classification (ClassI Division1/2, ATEX Zone1/2).
- Experience with NEMA7 equipment and analyzer types (GC, UV/IR, paramagnetic, FTNIR, CEMS, pH, TOC, etc.).
- Familiarity with Modbus, OPC, TCP/IP, and petrochemical/refinery instrumentation.
- Project experience at petrochemical or refinery sites.
- 10+ years as lead engineer for analytical system integration projects.
- Registered P.E. in the State of Texas.
- Leading experience in designing analysis systems, including plan views, elevations, electrical, piping, sample conditioning, and alarm systems.
