Locations & AssignmentsMaterials Engineering interns may work at Chevron’s U.S.
-based refinery operations in ElSegundo, Pasadena, Pascagoula, Richmond and Salt Lake City, or with the Technology, Projects and Execution team in Richmond and Houston. Mobility between locations is encouraged.
Your duties will include:
- Material selection and review of specifications.
- Failure analysis, corrosion studies and metallurgy studies.
- Documentation through written and oral summaries of your internship.
- Application of internship learnings toward a return internship or full‑time position.
- Enrolled or graduating with a Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate in Metallurgical, Materials or Corrosion Engineering.
- Strong academic performance in core programs.
- Excellent communication, leadership and teamwork skills.
- Problem‑solving abilities and alignment with Chevron’s values.
- Hourly rate: $28.25–$30.00 (≈$8,300–$9,000 monthly).
- Furnished housing.
- Participation in the Employee Savings Investment Plan with immediate vesting.
- Flexible work schedules (5/40, 9/80, or 4/10).
- Paid holidays and full year of service credit per internship completion.
Relocation may be considered for qualified candidates.
