Mechanical Drafter

Clayton Services is searching for a Mechanical Drafter to join an innovative engineering and manufacturing company in Northwest Houston. The Mechanical Drafter will be responsible for creating and maintaining mechanical drawings, assembly documentation, and Bills of Materials while supporting engineering with design updates and manufacturing documentation.

Job Type: Temp-to-Hire Pay Rate: $30.00 - $40.00/hour Benefits:

Mechanical Drafter Responsibilities:

Create and maintain detailed mechanical assembly drawings using Solid Works
Develop assembly documentation for manufacturing and production teams
Create and update Bills of Materials (BOMs) for mechanical assemblies
Make engineering revisions and minor modifications to existing designs
Design and maintain mechanical test fixtures and production equipment
Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to support new and existing products
Ensure drawings and documentation are accurate, complete, and up to company standards
Maintain engineering documentation and revision history
Assist with additional drafting and engineering support projects as assigned

Mechanical Drafter

Skills and Abilities:

Proficiency with Solid Works
Strong understanding of mechanical design principles
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and assembly methods
Experience creating detailed mechanical drawings and documentation
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
Experience creating wiring diagrams and harness drawings is a plus
Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects

Mechanical Drafter

Education and Experience:

Associate's degree or technical training in Drafting, Mechanical Design, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred
Minimum of 2 years of Solid Works drafting experience
Experience supporting manufacturing or product development environments
Experience creating and maintaining Bills of Materials
Experience with engineering change documentation preferred
