What You'll Do

  • Pipeline Crossings & Engineering Assessments

    Review and assess proposed pipeline crossing and encroachment requests. Perform engineering calculations and crossing assessments for road, utility, rail, drainage, agricultural, and development projects. Initiate projects for pipeline mitigations or relocations as necessary. Review engineering drawings, plans, profiles, GIS information, and project documentation. Evaluate third‑party activities and provide engineering recommendations to protect pipeline integrity. Recommend mitigation measures and damage prevention requirements.

  • Technical Support & Integrity Management

    Apply engineering principles and company standards to support safe pipeline operations. Support internal stakeholders by providing technical guidance related to crossings, encroachments, and threat management activities. Assist in resolving technical issues and developing practical engineering solutions. Support continuous improvement initiatives related to integrity management programs, standards, and procedures. Participate in development and maintenance of engineering procedures and best practices.

  • Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management

    Ensure engineering recommendations comply with applicable regulations, standards, and company requirements. Apply knowledge of ASME B31.8, ASME B31.8S, 49

    CFR Part
    192, and damage prevention practices. Support risk‑based decision‑making and operational integrity objectives.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration

    Coordinate with Operations, Integrity Management, Land, Project Management, and Regulatory teams. Communicate technical requirements and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders. Support discussions and negotiations with third parties regarding crossing requirements and project constraints. Deliver clear, concise, and professional written and verbal communications.

  • Continuous Improvement & Learning

    Contribute to process improvement initiatives related to crossings and threat management activities. Participate in industry forums, technical training, and knowledge‑sharing opportunities. Support mentoring and knowledge transfer activities across the team. Pursue ongoing professional development and technical growth.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 3–8 years of engineering experience in pipeline operations, integrity, construction, design, or related industries.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with pipeline integrity, damage prevention, or pipeline crossing assessments.
  • Working knowledge of ASME B31.8, ASME B31.8S, PHMSA regulations, and 49

    CFR Part
    192.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) designation.
  • Understanding of transportation, rail, utility, and urban development crossings.
  • Familiarity with GIS systems, pipeline drawings, and engineering calculation tools.
  • Knowledge of construction methodologies and field operations.
  • Experience working and negotiating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and operational excellence.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and construction plans.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities effectively.
