Role description:
Arcadis is seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer to deliver bridge projects for our growing Houston,Texas Bridge Team. Hybrid work available but you must be physically located within driving distance of office location. This is an excellent opportunity to showcase your technical expertise and management skills as part of an industry-leading firm built on a culture of this position you will serve as a technical lead for infrastructure projects and direct the work of junior engineering staff and CAD technicians.
You will work closely with other discipline leads to provide innovative solutions for our clients, including state DOT’s, municipal entities, and contractors.
Role accountabilities:
Serve as lead engineer for bridges and other structures, including new construction, inspection, repair, and rehabilitation projects. This includes leading, assigning and reviewing work and providing technical guidance to the team.
Collaborates with colleagues in other offices and different areas of expertise
Review technical packages as part of our internal quality program.
Review technical packages from other consultants as owner’s representative.
Deliver quality plans, calculations, and specifications on schedule.
Complete bridge inspections and load ratings with associated reports
Assists in preparing proposals for various pursuits
Assist with preparation of scope and fee proposals for structures work.
Represents the firm at professional organizations and conferences
Qualifications &
Experience:
Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field
12 or more years’ bridge design experience with at least 3 years of bridge design lead experience on TxDOT projects5 or more years’ TxDOT experience
Registrations/Certifications required:
Texas PEA valid driver’s license.
Key Attributes
Experience with AASHTO LRFDExperience with TxDOT design criteria and standards
Familiarity with structural engineering software packages such as:
Bentley Open Bridge Designer, MIDAS Civil, AASHTO BrR, Merlin-DASH and MathCADFamiliarity with CADD software packages such as:
Bentley Open Bridge Modeler, Bentley Micro Station, Autodesk Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Work independently with minimal direction and oversight.
Demonstrate excellent time management skills with the ability to work on multiple unique assignments simultaneously
Direct and mentor junior level staff inside of the project team Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to effectively convey information to technical and non-technical individuals.
Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in Structural Engineering
Experience with Design-Build projects

We offer nine paid holidays and 20 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $112,000 - $140,000.
