Piping Design Technician Senior

The Senior Piping Designer is responsible for delivering high-quality piping engineering design for state-of-the-art industrial and commercial facilities. The role involves leading design efforts, ensuring technical accuracy, and mentoring junior engineers while collaborating across disciplines

Key Responsibilities

* Design & Drafting:
Develop detailed 2D/3D piping designs using AutoCAD, CAD Worx, Revit, and/or Navisworks; prepare vendor drawings and design estimates

* Project Management:
Manage schedule and technical quality of assigned tasks; recognize and communicate scope/design changes promptly

* Collaboration:

Work with Process, Mechanical, Civil/Structural, and other disciplines to ensure design feasibility and compliance with client requirements

* Mentoring:
Provide technical guidance and mentor junior piping designers

* Software

Skills:

Advanced proficiency in 2D/3D modeling software; experience with Navisworks and Microsoft products (Outlook, Excel)

* Electronics Industry

Experience:

Preferred semiconductor industry background

Requirements

* Education:

Associate's degree (AA) in Computer Aided Drafting and Design or similar technical degree; or equivalent years of experience

* Experience:

At least 8 years of piping design experience

* Technical

Skills:

Advanced working knowledge of piping design in 2D/3D modeling software (AutoCAD, CAD Worx, Revit, Plant3D, Smart Plant 3D, Navisworks, Revizto)

* Soft Skills:

Strong communication (verbal/written), analytical/problem-solving abilities, collaboration in multi-disciplinary teams, and adaptability to new technologies

Work Environment

* Work Mode:
Hybrid (Portland, OR) or remote in approved states; also available in other Jacob's office locations
