Overview
Houston, Texas – $110,000 – $130,000 (DOE). This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking engineering and manufacturing business focused on advanced distributed energy solutions and turbo machinery systems. The company designs and delivers high-performance, packaged power solutions that support critical infrastructure and energy resilience. You play a key role in developing and delivering next-generation energy technology.
- Develop, program, and test PLC, HMI, and control logic for power generation systems
- Integrate instrumentation, sensors, and communication protocols (Modbus, Ethernet/IP, etc.)
- Support control panel design, wiring, and system packaging in collaboration with engineering teams
- Conduct factory acceptance testing (FAT) and site commissioning activities
- Troubleshoot control systems, instrumentation, and field performance issues
- Analyze system data to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance
- Prepare technical documentation including control narratives, I/O lists, and reports
- Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to specify control components
- Provide onsite and remote support for system startup, upgrades, and customer training
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards (UL, NEC, ISO, CE, etc.)
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across engineering and product lines
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in industrial controls, power generation, or turbine systems
- Strong PLC programming and HMI/SCADA development experience
- Knowledge of rotating equipment, instrumentation, and protection systems
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and wiring diagrams
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills in both workshop and field environments
- Willingness to travel for commissioning and customer support
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
