Job Description
Our client is seeking a Chief Engineer to join their team in Clear Lake, TX. The Chief Engineer serves as the primary technical authority for the Engineering Department, providing strategic leadership, technical oversight, and guidance to ensure the successful execution of flight hardware projects supporting NASA missions. This role drives engineering excellence by developing processes, resolving complex technical challenges, mentoring multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring adherence to engineering lifecycle, quality, and safety standards.
The Chief Engineer leads flight hardware readiness reviews, risk assessments, technical dispositions, and root cause analyses while collaborating with project teams, NASA technical organizations, and department leadership to achieve mission objectives. Additionally, this position supports long-term strategic planning, workforce development, and engineering infrastructure investments that enhance organizational capability and advance human spaceflight programs.

15+ years of experience in cradle to grave design and development of hardware supporting engineering projects
10+ years of NASA flight hardware development experience
Experience with the engineering lifecycle per EA-023 and SA-WI-014
Bachelors degree in Engineering - Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical preferred
Experience mentoring personnel from different engineering disciplines
