Job SummaryResponsible for land development across residential, industrial, retail, mixed‑use, healthcare, educational, and recreational sites. Key tasks include conceptual site layout, utility design, roadway design, site grading, erosion control, floodplain studies, permitting and entitlement support, cost estimation, proposal preparation, and construction support.
Accountability and Duties- Prepares engineer’s opinion of probable cost
- Prepares design calculations
- Maintains a good relationship with clients
- Prepares permit applications for applicable municipal agencies
- Prepares feasibility studies, master planning, and engineering‑design of water, sanitary, storm sewer, paving, and detention facilities
- Assists in preparation of proposals for engineering services
- Reviews and prepares project specifications
- Assists in production of final construction drawings
- Mentors and assists with training of Civil Engineers
- Delegates specific project components to Civil Engineers
- Works closely with other disciplines on multi‑discipline projects
- Responsible for project schedules and time completion of projects
- Participates in business development activities
- Professionally represents the firm at client and municipal meetings/hearings
- Prepares and monitors project budgets, billing, and assists with accounts receivable
- Performs other incidental duties related to the work described herein
PE license required. Valid driver’s license.
Qualification Requirements- 6+ years of experience
- AutoCAD Civil 3D experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four‑year college or university
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
- Outstanding writing, communications, and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office
- Fluent in the English language
The employee is frequently required to sit and talk or hear; occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands to handle tools, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee may frequently lift or move up to 10 lbs and occasionally lift or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Occasionally works in outside weather conditions, possibly for extended assignments.
$90,000 – $135,800 USD
