Job Description & How to Apply Below

At the senior level of the construction project management family, this position focuses on executing increasingly complex project assignments with a high degree of independence. The successful candidate will coordinate the project management team to ensure complete execution alignment.

The primary focus of this role is to develop, detail, expand, and maintain integrated project schedules for one or more major capital projects. All planning and schedule development must be conducted in close collaboration with project teams and key stakeholders. The Senior Project Scheduler represents the department by providing technical and scheduling advice, managing critical path alignment, and facilitating communications between internal and external stakeholders.

Core

Responsibilities
  • Standardize Schedule Execution: Adhere to enterprise scheduling standards for the development and implementation of critical project schedules, ensuring that standards, such as the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), remain current and structurally sound.
  • Perform Progress Updates: Update, revise, and detail project schedules as development and execution progress, incorporating earned-value data from Field Construction Analysts and other key construction tracking resources.
  • Manage Critical Path and Analysis: Interpret the performance of scheduled activities, analyze the impact of schedule updates against baseline plans, and communicate potential variances or schedule slips to the Project Manager.
  • Optimize Resource Allocation: Ensure resource requirements are fully incorporated into project schedules during the planning stages and continuously monitored and optimized throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide Analytical Modeling: Develop and manage key schedule performance indicators. Generate detailed logic-driven "what-if" scenarios to identify critical path elements, evaluate proposed changes, and outline strategic options for the project team.
  • Coordinate Stakeholders: Interface with diverse internal and external stakeholders, including partners, customers, and consultants, to secure accurate data and maintain timely, integrated master schedule updates.
  • Facilitate Project Closeout: Provide technical and business advice regarding the preparation and disposition of essential closeout documentation, ensuring all schedule and planning data is archived systematically.
  • Provide Leadership and Mentorship: Act as an independent scheduling subject matter expert, offering technical guidance, advice, and peer reviews to junior and intermediate planners and schedulers.
Required Qualifications
  • Education: Technical college diploma or university degree in engineering, construction management, business, or a closely related field of study.
  • Experience: 5 to 10 years of direct, progressive experience in project scheduling and planning, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • Industry

    Experience:

Proven scheduling experience supporting active oil and gas construction projects across their full project life cycles (from initial project development to completion).
  • Communication

    Skills:

Advanced verbal and written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to synthesize complex technical facts and analyze their broader business implications for both technical and non-technical staff.
  • Work Ethic: A highly dynamic and proactive professional approach, characterized by a self-directed ability to engage stakeholders across the enterprise to secure necessary project information.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Prior experience navigating Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) regulatory environments.
  • System Integration: Experience integrating project schedules with specialized enterprise project cost-control systems, specifically Eco Sys.
  • Specialized Environment: Prior experience supporting offshore construction scheduling initiatives.
  • Work Location: Office-based with requirements to travel to field construction worksites (appropriate Personal Protective Equipment will be provided during field visits).
  • Travel Requirements: Occasional overnight business or construction field trips as required to assess project site conditions.
  • Contract Duration: Long-term alignment (specific terms finalized upon engagement).
