Job Purpose The controls and automation engineer plays a crucial role in project execution, following TechnipFMC's engineering processes and industry standards. As a C&A Engineer, you will contribute technically to project teams, taking responsibility for specific project schedule elements and deliverables. Your expertise lies in providing technical solutions to meet project requirements, while also proactively identifying and addressing risks and challenges.
Additionally, you will independently design intricate subsea equipment, demonstrating mastery in relevant products and processes, and produce essential electrical designs, configurations, and documentation.
Job Description The primary responsibility of this role is to delivery the Controls and Automation technical scope for a project or series of related projects. Documents and adheres to system and product requirements. Conceptualizes and performs design activities, including conducting internal technical reviews to freeze requirements and system/product designs. Develops, builds, tests, assembles and configures project deliverables including Factory Acceptance and Integration Tests.
Completes and delivers design packages for topsides and subsea controls equipment. Supports projects and products throughout project/product lifecycle. This position is focused around supporting project deliverables by working as a team member within a specific portfolio of projects. Setting up and configuring test equipment such as industrial computers, virtual machines, routers, switches, and TechnipFMC proprietary equipment required.
You are meant for this job if: BS degree in Electrical Engineering Required. 5 to 10 years of experience in the field of Controls and Automation. Specific knowledge of TechnipFMC topsides control equipment preferred. Demonstrated experience working in technical teams responsible for execution of projects constrained by safety, quality, delivery and cost requirements. Ability to make independent system recommendations utilizing advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
Accuracy, dependability, ability to manage schedule and prioritize work. Ability to work independently - a self-motivated self-starter. Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to effectively transfer subject matter expertise.
