SUMMARY

Senior Designer will provide Shop, Sales and Project support. Coordinate drawing activities for Merichem Process Technology Design group. Senior Designer will develop proprietary equipment drawings, Plot Plans, Piping Layouts integrating company and customer requirements into Design documents and drawings. Work with subcontracted detailed engineering companies to ensure designs are drawn plus built to company and customer requirements.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for Shop Support / Plot Plans / Piping Layouts and Equipment Proprietary Equipment drawing and document development of Cont actors, Hardware plus Vessel Internals. Provide Sales and Project support. Coordinate subcontracted designers along with reviewing their work plus reviewing in house designer’s work. Define requirements of drawings and validate the quality of the deliverables to the Customers. Develop Equipment drawings for Design and Fabrication.
  
  Work with Shop Fabrication as proprietary equipment, Structural, Vessel and Piping shop support Design interface
• Check Merichem Process Technology Design documents. Check and Review subcontracted design production of Structural, Vessel and Piping drawings plus documents. Review and comparison of Customer documents, including engineering standards and contract documents, with respect to Merichem Process Technology Project Standards
• Review and develop exceptions & clarifications to the Customer documents with respect to Merichem Process Technology Project Standards and Customer document specification summaries. Review man hour estimates for proprietary equipment activities on projects being estimated. Develop supporting information for change orders on proprietary equipment
• Back Drafting of all type of Autocad drawings documents
• Support Design Manager during absence for executions of daily task
• Create, approve and issue Quality design documents within schedule and budget
• Continuously improve our commitment to excellence in Environmental, Health, Safety and Security performance
• Other duties as assigned by management

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum 10 years of proven piping design experience creating, reviewing & revising piping drawings required
• Minimum 10 years of proven ability to create layouts from sales schematic flow diagrams required
• Minimum 10 years of experience using 2-D Autocad program required
• Minimum 8 years of experience creating vessel designs for refinery related equipment required
• Minimum 8 years of 3-D modeling experience, capable of reviewing 3-D models in Navisworks files, familiar with 3-D model reviews required
• Good oral and written communications skills
• Computer software literacy
• Able to read, comprehend, maintain concentration and analyze complex data
• Discrete with confidential information
• Use good judgment, both fair and objective

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

• This position has no supervisory responsibility

EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

• Able to work an agreed upon standard schedule and overtime as required

TRAVEL

• Occasional travel domestically & Internationally
• Must have a current, valid driver's license
• Able to be insurable under our company's liability insurance policy
