Location: Houston, TX – hybrid, office-based 3 days per week

Salary:

About the Opportunity

Join a global business operating within the wind energy sector, supporting the grid integration and plant control requirements of major wind power projects across the US and Canada.

This is a technically influential role spanning technical sales, grid code compliance, electrical pre-design, construction and commissioning
.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 7+ years’ experience in electrical power or control systems
  • Strong knowledge of grid integration and utility interconnection requirements
  • Experience interpreting grid codes and reviewing electrical studies
  • Knowledge of NERC, IEC, IEEE and UL standards
  • Wind turbine or wind power plant experience preferred
  • Exposure to PSCAD, TSAT, E-TRAN or PSS/E advantageous
  • Strong customer-facing and technical communication skills
  • Professional Engineer licence or Master’s degree preferred
  • The Senior roles requires client facing experience

Role & Responsibilities

  • Reviewing grid interconnection and customer requirements
  • Supporting tenders, contracts and technical negotiations
  • Assessing wind power plant designs for grid code compliance
  • Preparing electrical pre-design studies and technical recommendations
  • Developing Power Plant Controller functional specifications
  • Supporting grid compliance testing and commissioning approvals
  • Engaging with system operators, industry groups and technical committees
  • Monitoring emerging grid codes and mentoring engineering colleagues
