POSITION SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES:

This is a fast-paced environment, requiring informed decision-making with limited or incomplete data. This role will support subsurface evaluation, development planning, drilling operations, non-operated asset management, and acquisition and divestiture activities while working closely with multidisciplinary teams across the organization.

  • Collaborate with Reservoir Engineering, Production Engineering, Drilling & Completions, and Land teams to identify, prioritize, and execute drilling and development opportunities.
  • Develop geologic interpretations, well proposals, prognoses, and subsurface evaluations to support field development, near-field exploration, and acquisitions & divestiture efforts.
  • Support the planning, drilling, geosteering, and post-well evaluation of vertical and horizontal wells in both conventional and unconventional reservoirs.
  • Evaluate operated and non-operated assets, track non-op activity and elections, and provide technical recommendations to support business and operational decisions.
  • Identify bypassed pay, uphole potential, infill opportunities, and enhanced recovery applications, including water flood and CO₂ flood projects.
  • Perform integrated geological, petrophysical, geophysical, and production analyses to optimize reservoir development and resource recovery.
  • Ingest, maintain, quality-control, and analyze large geological and operational datasets to support subsurface interpretations and strategic decision‑making.
  • Support acquisition and divestiture evaluations through technical assessments, data reviews, reserves analysis, and opportunity identification.
  • Utilize and promote best practices in subsurface software, workflows, and data management to improve efficiency, collaboration, and decision quality.
  • Effectively communicate technical findings and recommendations across multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment where decisions are often made with limited data.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • 10+ years of experience focused primarily on Oklahoma, including the Anadarko Basin, STACK, SCOOP, and Western Anadarko. Experience in the Appalachian Basin, Permian Basin, or East Texas/North Louisiana is preferred
  • Broad experience in operations, development and exploration geology, with focus on unconventional reservoir evaluation and development.

  • Experience in conventional fields is a plus.
  • Experience identifying bypassed pay or uphole potential, and familiarity with secondary and tertiary recovery methods—such as water floods and CO2 gas floods is a plus.
  • Must be comfortable with multitasking, contributing to multiple projects and prioritizing on the fly.
