Building Automation System (BAS) Operator

Monitor the districts BAS systems and have work orders created for issues found, dispatch appropriate technicians to problem areas and make adjustments to the BAS Systems to maintain comfort and energy efficiency.

Education/Certification:

High school diploma or equivalent. Two (2) years' experience in building automated systems Valid Texas driver license.

Special Knowledge/

Skills:

Ability to translate and communicate technical information in a simple, tangible manner. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects in different subject areas. Proficiency with a MS Windows based computer including MS Office Suite. Ability to work independently, as well as with cross-functional teams. Ability to organize and schedule work effectively. Knowledge of Building Automation software.

Basic HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing and Electronics knowledge. Ability to follow, read, and write specifications schematics, and building plans. Ability to handle repetitive task.

Experience:

Minimum two (2) experience in one or more related fields Technology, Building Automation Systems, HVAC, Electrical Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Experience with Johnson Controls Metasys and Automated Logic WebCTRL. Knowledge of environmental benefits of energy conservation.

Maintain Functionality of districts building automation systems. Maintain building environments to an acceptable level. Identify building automation systems problems and submit work orders. Address customer service phone calls from all SBISD levels. Dispatch HVAC and BAS technicians to emergency calls. Ability to work overtime. Flexible work schedule. Perform other duties as assigned.
