Electrical Designer/Drafter

Our client, an Oilfield Services company, is looking for an Electrical Designer/Drafter for their Houston, TX location.

• EPC Modular drafting & design, Solid Works (required), Navisworks, PDF editor, Autodesk Autocad
• Support the Engineers and Engineering Manager in providing drawings and equipment BOM as per customer requirements independently.
• Support the service personnel in solving problems by simulating the problems in drawings.
• Work on simple Engineering Work
• Request and comply with all departmental Work Instructions and Engineering Standards.
• Check and approve drawings / designs; interface communication, and ensure the accuracy, reliability, efficiency, and safety of the electrical scope of work for Hyperscale Data Center Modules meets customer's requirements and Industrial Standards they produce.
• Resolve problems by identifying and selecting solutions through the application of acquired technical experience and analysis of factual information
• Support the goals and programs established by the management team.
• Provide and check drawings / BOM as per customer requirements.
• Prepare bulk MTOs (Material Take Offs) and detailed BOMs (Bill of Materials) with no supervision from Engineer.
• Ensure drawings follow the Engineering and QA/QC standards.
• Prepare layout drawings to customer to present the proposed equipment and the function of the equipment.
• Prepare and complete various electrical deliverable drawings and documents such as cable routing, panel drawings, panel layout, electrical schematics, interconnect diagrams, loop diagrams, single-line electrical wiring schematics, cable schedule, lighting location /layout / plan, instrument location / layout / plan, earthing details, I/O (Input/output) schedule, electrical termination hook-ups, etc.
• Help in solving problems by simulating the problems in drawings.
• Prepare sequence drawing and procedure for Factory Acceptance Test.
• Prepare and compile installation procedure for submission to customer.
• Supervise the outsourcing of engineering design work to 3rd party engineering / design firms.
• Review, as required, vendor data and drawings to ensure compliance with client specifications or applicable standards.
• Produce report data from models and assist in providing necessary design information to Project/Client/Third Party, as required.
• Provide "Lessons learned" feedback and utilize findings from the process to update tools and procedures

• Mastery knowledge and proficiency in:
• Microsoft Office 365 Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint)
• PDF Editor (Adobe, Foxit, or other equivalent)
• Solid Works (required)
• Autodesk AutoCAD
• Navisworks Manager / Freedom
• Technical Certification in the design discipline
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical scopes of work for Hyperscale Data Center Modules or related environment in similar industry.
• Ability to produce drawings / sketches to illustrate design / ideas.
• Experience with high-density data centers and hyperscale environments (strongly preferred)
• High level understanding of the purpose of electrical system for facilities.
• General Knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations, including but not limited:
• IEC – International Electrotechnical Commission
• IBC – International Building Code
• OSHA – Occupational Safety and Health Administration
• NEC – National Electric Code
• NFPA – National Fire Protection Association
• Experience working with computer-aided design (CAD) and building information modeling (BIM) software
• Fluency, both written and verbal, in English.
