Job Title
Senior Calibration / Metrology Engineer

Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Senior Calibration / Metrology Engineer to support calibration and measurement system improvements within a regulated manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have expertise in calibration management, metrology principles, measurement uncertainty, statistical analysis, and process optimization while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable measurement systems and compliance with quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and improve calibration and measurement management processes by identifying gaps and implementing corrective actions to enhance system effectiveness.
- Develop, review, and standardize calibration procedures, metrology documentation, SOPs, and measurement uncertainty methodologies to ensure consistent execution.
- Perform measurement uncertainty analysis, tolerance evaluations, guard banding assessments, and fitness-for-use studies using recognized statistical methodologies.
- Investigate out-of-tolerance (OOT) and out-of-calibration (OOC) events, conduct product impact assessments, evaluate equipment criticality, and recommend risk-based corrective actions.
- Optimize calibration intervals using statistical techniques, historical equipment performance, and reliability data to improve operational efficiency.
- Evaluate and enhance calibration methods for manufacturing and inspection equipment, including automated production systems, vision inspection equipment, packaging systems, dimensional measurement devices, and ultrasonic welding equipment.
- Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Validation, Laboratory Operations, and Quality teams to improve metrology processes and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop qualification and competency programs for calibration personnel while supporting internal, customer, and regulatory audits through documentation and technical expertise.
- Analyze calibration data, identify trends, and recommend process improvements to enhance measurement accuracy, equipment reliability, and product quality.
- Maintain calibration documentation and ensure traceability of measurement systems in accordance with company quality requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Metrology, or a related technical discipline.
- 6+ years of experience in calibration, metrology, measurement systems, or quality engineering within a regulated manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of calibration management systems, measurement uncertainty, statistical analysis, and metrology best practices.
- Experience conducting OOT/OOC investigations, product impact assessments, and calibration interval optimization.
- Hands-on experience with manufacturing and inspection equipment calibration, including automated equipment, dimensional metrology systems, vision systems, packaging equipment, or similar technologies.
- Proficiency in root cause analysis, risk assessment, and technical documentation.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.
