Clayton Services is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join a rapidly growing energy and engineering services company in the Spring, Texas area. The Project Manager will lead technically complex energy infrastructure projects through engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout while managing project schedules, costs, risks, clients, vendors, and internal resources.
The ideal candidate will have an engineering background combined with significant project management experience in power generation, energy, oil and gas, or a related heavy industrial environment. This position requires a hands-on project leader who understands both the technical and commercial sides of project execution and is comfortable working within a fast-growing, entrepreneurial organization.

Skills and Abilities
- Strong understanding of project management principles within power generation, energy, oil and gas, EPC/EPCM, or heavy industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of project scheduling and cost-control principles.
- Proficiency with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or comparable project scheduling and controls software.
- Ability to manage technically complex projects involving high-value equipment and multiple stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning workflows.
- Excellent client-facing communication and relationship-management skills.
- Ability to effectively coordinate engineers, vendors, subcontractors, construction personnel, and other project resources.
- Strong commercial awareness with experience managing budgets, forecasting, change orders, and project risks.
- Ability to understand technical engineering information and effectively communicate between technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to operate effectively without extensive oversight or established corporate infrastructure.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a willingness to take ownership beyond narrowly defined job responsibilities.
- Ability and willingness to travel to project sites throughout Texas and Louisiana and occasionally elsewhere domestically or internationally.
- Ability to work onsite when not traveling to customer or project locations.
- Valid passport or ability to obtain one preferred.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering strongly preferred;
Construction Management or a closely related technical discipline may also be considered. - Approximately 7-12+ years of total relevant engineering/project experience preferred.
- 5-10 years of dedicated project management experience within power generation, energy, oil and gas, EPC/EPCM, or heavy industrial projects preferred.
- Power generation experience is highly preferred.
- Gas turbine, turbo machinery, rotating equipment, or related major equipment experience is a strong plus.
- Experience managing projects through engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning preferred.
- Previous experience with an EPC/EPCM organization, power-generation company, turbine OEM, or similar technical environment is highly desirable.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred but not required.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is a significant plus.
- Candidates with a PE license and slightly less project management experience may be considered.
