Chemical Engineer

Zeta Energy is developing next-generation Lithium-Sulfur battery technology in Houston, Texas. We are seeking a hands-on Chemical Engineer to lead the operation and scale-up of advanced pyrolysis and kiln-based production processes for battery electrode materials.

Direct Responsibilities:

• Lead the daily operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of pyrolysis reactors and industrial kiln equipment for battery material synthesis.
• Optimize thermal processing parameters to ensure high-purity, high-throughput material output that meets strict battery performance specifications.
• Execute scale-up projects, transitioning pyrolysis processes from laboratory concepts to fully integrated industrial production lines.
• Implement process control automation and safety systems specifically for high-temperature chemical reactor environments.

The following are required from the candidate:

• Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering with significant hands-on industrial experience.
• Proven expertise in operating and maintaining pyrolysis reactors, kilns, or similar high-temperature thermal processing equipment.
• Practical knowledge of vacuum systems, thermal abatement/scrubbing, and process safety management (PSM).

Location and Travel Requirements:

• This position is located in Houston, Texas. Occasional travel could include domestic travel to other cities and states and foreign travel.
