Element ale Enterprises is seeking an Electrical & Controls Engineer to support the design, programming, fabrication, testing, and commissioning of industrial process measurement and analyzer systems.
This is a hands-on engineering position for someone who enjoys taking a project from electrical design and CAD drawings through PLC/HMI programming, shop testing, and final commissioning.
The ideal candidate will have approximately 3–5 years of experience in industrial controls, electrical design, and PLC programming, preferably supporting process equipment, packaged systems, instrumentation, or industrial automation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop electrical drawings and documentation for industrial process equipment and analyzer systems.
- Create and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, termination drawings, loop drawings, and related CAD documentation.
- Design control panels and electrical systems incorporating PLCs, HMIs, power supplies, relays, breakers, instrumentation, and communication devices.
- Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC control programs.
- Develop and configure HMI screens, alarms, interlocks, and operator controls.
- Develop control narratives, I/O lists, cause-and-effect logic, and sequence-of-operation documentation.
- Integrate process instrumentation including analyzers, pressure and temperature transmitters, flow devices, solenoid valves, pumps, heaters, and safety devices.
- Configure and troubleshoot analog and digital signals including 4–20 mA, discrete I/O, Modbus, Ethernet/IP, and other industrial communications.
- Work closely with Mechanical, Chemical/Process, Production, and Service personnel to translate project requirements into practical control solutions.
- Support panel fabrication, wiring, system integration, and shop testing.
- Perform PLC/HMI checkout and participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
- Troubleshoot electrical and controls issues during fabrication, testing, startup, and field commissioning.
- Maintain accurate as-built drawings and project documentation.
- Support continuous improvement and standardization of Element ale electrical and controls designs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Controls Engineering, or related technical discipline preferred.
- Approximately 3–5 years of experience in electrical controls, industrial automation, or process equipment.
- Hands-on experience programming PLC-based control systems.
- Allen-Bradley / Rockwell Automation PLCs and HMIs
- Siemens or other industrial PLC platforms
- Experience developing electrical drawings using AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, or similar CAD software.
- Understanding of industrial instrumentation and process control.
- Ability to read and develop P&IDs, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and I/O documentation.
- Experience troubleshooting electrical and control systems using drawings, PLC logic, and field measurements.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with engineering, production, and field service personnel.
