If you're an experienced Offshore Surveyor looking for the opportunity to work on varied offshore projects, operate a broad range of survey technology and take the next step in your career, this could be the role for you.

As a Senior Offshore Surveyor, you'll be a key part of the offshore survey team, responsible for delivering accurate positioning and high quality survey data while working closely with the Party Chief, Project Manager, vessel crew and client.

You'll have the opportunity to work across different projects and systems, build on your technical expertise and play an important role in delivering successful offshore survey campaigns.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll take ownership of the online survey operations, making sure positioning, sensors and data are performing as they should throughout the project. You'll work based on 135 days guaranteed offshore contract.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Operating and monitoring a range of online survey systems.
  • Acquiring, logging and managing accurate positioning and survey data.
  • Carrying out online QC and processing data to check quality and identify issues.
  • Monitoring the performance of survey sensors and positioning systems.
  • Supporting system calibrations and understanding how calibration affects data quality.
  • Working with GNSS/GPS, MBES, SBP, SSS, MAG, SCS, USBL and scanning sonar.
  • Interpreting tides, water-column information, datums and projections.
  • Supporting the Party Chief with survey operations and project-specific tasks.
  • Communicating effectively with the offshore team, project management and client representatives.
  • Taking an active role in maintaining a safe working environment through JSAs, Toolbox Talks and company safety procedures.
  • Looking after and operating survey equipment safely and professionally.
What You'll Bring

You'll have solid offshore survey background and is confident taking responsibility for online survey operations.

You'll need:

  • Previous offshore survey experience, ideally in an Online Surveyor or Senior Online Surveyor position.
  • A good working knowledge of online survey systems and positioning technology.
  • Practical experience with a range of systems such as GNSS/GPS, MBES, SBP, SSS, MAG, SCS and USBL.
  • The ability to monitor survey data and confidently carry out online QC and data processing.
  • An understanding of system calibrations and their impact on data quality.
  • Knowledge of datums, projections, tides and water-column parameters.
  • Good understanding of computer networking and survey software.
  • Strong IT skills and the ability to work confidently with survey data and online logging systems.
  • Good communication skills and a genuine ability to work as part of an offshore team.
  • A proactive approach to safety, quality and problem-solving.
  • A college level qualification in relevant survey discipline, or equivalent technical, military or industry experience and qualifications.
  • The relevant offshore certifications, or the ability to obtain them.
  • A valid passport and the ability to obtain visas for international travel where required.
