The Field Technician plays a vital role in the successful delivery of geotechnical projects by collecting accurate field and laboratory data, performing testing in accordance with industry standards, and supporting our engineering and project teams. Through safe, dependable, and high-quality work, you will help ensure successful project outcomes and exceptional client service.

Ongoing Work:

  • Perform soil and rock logging in a variety of geologic formations throughout Texas
  • Conduct laboratory testing of soils and rock in accordance with ASTM standards and project specifications
  • Accurately record field observations, laboratory results, and project information using company software and reporting systems
  • Assist Project Managers, Engineers, and Laboratory personnel with project execution and technical support
  • Operate, maintain, and care for field and laboratory equipment
  • Maintain organized, clean, and safe work areas in both field and laboratory environments
  • Follow all company safety policies and industry's best practices
  • Represent the company professionally while working with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support project success

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geology, or a related field
  • Experience in performing soil borehole logging, bedrock characterization and laboratory testing of soil samples is preferred
  • Working knowledge of ASTM laboratory testing standards and geotechnical field investigation practices
  • Ability to accurately identify, classify, and document subsurface soil and rock conditions
  • Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork
  • Work Authorization:
    Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. This position is not eligible for current or future employment visa sponsorship

Physical and Travel Requirements:

  • Ability to routinely lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to safely handle soil and rock samples
  • Ability to work outdoors year-round in varying weather and construction site conditions
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and extended hours as project schedules require
  • Willingness to travel extensively throughout Texas and work out of town - up to 95% of the time when business needs require
  • Valid Texas driver's license with a clean driving record and no history of alcohol- or drug-related driving offenses
