Regulatory Tech

Our client is seeking a Regulatory Tech in Houston, TX. US Citizens only.

Comp-Full benefits;
Salary is $100K-$125K DOE.

NOTE:

Previous permitting with state regulatory agencies is considered a must have for the ideal applicant. Experience with Federal permitting such as EPA is considered desirable, but not as desirable as state permitting. State permitting agencies might be name "Texas Oil and Gas Commission" or "Department of Environmental Quality"

Primary purpose: The position is an integral member of a Carbon Sequestration Team. The Regulator Technician will focus on regulatory compliance for the EPA, CARB, and state regulatory agencies. Experience with large regulatory documents is a plus, but it is not a requirement. The ideal candidate has 5+ years experience with regulatory workflows. In order to meet deadlines, the candidate may be expected to work non-traditional hours.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Craft and edit documentation through close work with technical staff including engineers, geologists, and project staff.
  • Edit graphs, tables, images, etc. with consistent format.
  • Evaluate, organize, and transpose raw data into report formats.
  • Format technical reports for subsurface and regulatory documentation.
  • Manage databases of regulatory documentation.
  • Proofread, revise, and edit technical content including regulatory documentation, research, and reports.
  • Provides feedback to third party generated documents.
  • Redact documents containing confidential business information.
  • Researches and describes regulatory workflows and policies.
  • Submits large regulatory documents such as Class VI permit applications to the GSDT site and contributes to the submittal of sequential permit updates.
  • Authors sundry notices, drilling permits, etc. for state regulatory agencies on behalf of project operations.
  • Track project deadlines for compliance reporting.
  • Multitask on several regulatory projects.
  • Collaborate with a variety of people with tact, courtesy, and professionalism.
  • Maintain regular, dependable attendance and a high level of performance.
  • Maintain a high regard for personal safety, the safety of company assets and employees, and the general public.
  • Other daily, weekly, monthly, or special projects may be assigned.

Education

  • A related Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution

Experience/Specific Knowledge

  • Advanced skill set in Microsoft Office and Adobe Pro.
  • Engineering, geology, and/or oil and gas experience is a plus.
  • Experience working with UIC's and state regulatory agencies is a plus.
  • Experience with regulatory documentation including EPA, DOE, and state oil and gas regulatory divisions is a plus, but not required.
  • Must have strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office applications that may include but are not limited to Excel, Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
