We are partnering with a fast-growing clean energy developer to appoint a Transmission & Interconnection Manager.

The company is developing large-scale geothermal generation projects across North America, providing reliable, around-the-clock power for utilities and major commercial customers. As its project portfolio grows, transmission strategy and interconnection execution will play a central role in moving projects from early development through construction and commercial operation.

This position will take ownership of behind-the-meter and broader generation interconnection activities across the portfolio. The successful candidate will work directly with utilities, customers, consultants and internal development, engineering and commercial teams to identify viable interconnection pathways, manage technical and commercial risk, and keep projects moving.

The successful can candidate can be based out of any of the below locations with full relocation support available.

Golden, CO;
Reno, NV; or Salt Lake City, UT

Responsibilities
  • Lead interconnection activities from early feasibility through studies, agreements, commissioning and operational readiness
  • Develop project-specific interconnection strategies and identify technical, cost and schedule risks
  • Coordinate with utilities, customers, consultants and internal teams to keep projects progressing
  • Review applications, studies, utility requirements and interconnection agreements
  • Establish consistent internal standards for studies, testing and utility compliance
Behind-the-Meter & Customer Interconnections
  • Evaluate behind-the-meter generation opportunities and utility requirements
  • Work directly with commercial and industrial customers on grid connection needs
  • Coordinate generation, customer load, protection and utility infrastructure requirements
  • Support testing, commissioning and commercial operation of customer-connected assets
Transmission & Power Delivery
  • Assess transmission availability, delivery options and project risks
  • Support transmission service applications and relevant utility or ISO/RTO processes
  • Review OASIS data, congestion, nodal pricing and LMP exposure
  • Support site selection, commercial evaluation and strategic transmission opportunities Cross-Functional Leadership
    • Partner with Development, Engineering, Commercial, Construction and Operations
    • Translate technical and utility requirements into clear project actions
    • Present interconnection risks, costs and timelines to senior stakeholders
    Required Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline
    • At least five years of experience in generation interconnection, transmission planning, utility engineering, power-system studies or large-load connections
    • Demonstrated experience working with US utilities and their interconnection processes
    • Experience coordinating directly with utilities, developers, customers or ISO/RTO representatives
    • Strong understanding of power-system and interconnection studies
    • Ability to review technical studies, utility requirements and interconnection agreements
    • Experience managing multiple projects, external stakeholders and competing deadlines
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to work independently and take ownership of complex interconnection matters
