Role Description

The Registered Professional Land Surveyor is a full-time, on-site role based in Houston, TX. The individual in this position will plan, coordinate, and execute land surveying projects, including boundary, topographic, and construction surveys. Daily responsibilities include supervising field crews, operating and overseeing total station and other survey equipment, reviewing and validating survey data, and preparing accurate survey drawings, plats, and reports.

The role involves collaborating with civil engineers, project managers, and clients to clarify project requirements, resolve survey-related issues, and ensure projects meet applicable standards and regulatory requirements. The surveyor will also be responsible for maintaining quality control, adhering to safety protocols, and supporting junior team members through mentorship and technical guidance.

Qualifications
  • Strong proficiency in Land Surveying and Surveying practices, with the ability to manage a variety of residential, commercial, and civil projects.
  • Hands-on experience with Topographic Surveys and Building Surveying for design, construction, and development applications.
  • Demonstrated skill in using Total Station and related survey instruments, as well as familiarity with modern data collection tools and software.
  • Current registration as a Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) in the state of Texas, or eligibility for registration within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Competence with CAD and survey software (e.g., "AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or equivalent") and digital data management workflows.
  • Solid knowledge of local, state, and federal surveying regulations, standards of practice, and legal principles related to boundaries and easements.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to coordinate field and office teams and interact professionally with clients and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work on-site in varying field conditions, lift and operate survey equipment as needed, and maintain a strong focus on safety.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in surveying, geomatics, civil engineering, or a related field is preferred.
