Job Description
The Technical Specialist serves as an experienced water treatment professional interested in developing their technical capabilities, crucial to supporting the field sales organization and ensuring customer program success within water treatment applications. This role is focused on building foundational expertise and applying core technical skills under the guidance of experienced team members. The Specialist will be responsible for assisting in the implementation of standard customer solutions, supporting basic troubleshooting, and maintaining accurate documentation while utilizing digital tools.
Success in this role requires a strong eagerness to learn, meticulous attention to detail, and a collaborative approach to meeting customer needs.
- Technical Program Support:
Provide essential technical support for standard water treatment applications (cooling, steam generation, and wastewater), collaborating closely with senior team members. - Technical Program Support:
Conduct basic water testing, equipment inspections, and support field testing of standard products and applications. - Technical Program Support:
Assist in fundamental troubleshooting activities under direct supervision. - Technical Program Support:
Shadow experienced colleagues during customer visits and technical reviews to build on-the-job competency.
- Data Management & Documentation:
Maintain accurate and detailed records of assigned accounts within digital platforms (e.g., CMS, SPG). - Data Management & Documentation:
Assist in routine technical data collection and analysis to support program performance metrics and technical excellence audits. - Data Management & Documentation:
Support preparation of comprehensive technical reports and presentations. - Data Management & Documentation:
Help coordinate sample analysis and ensure proper documentation is maintained.

Qualifications:
Qualifications
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant technical discipline. - Experience:
3+ years of progressive engineering or technical sales experience in the water treatment or industrial sector (specifically with wastewater, cooling, and steam generation). - Travel:
Ability and willingness to travel approximately 30 - 50% of the time within the assigned territory.
- Must reside in the assigned region or within customer proximity requirements, as required.
- Ability to work frequently in heavy industrial environments (e.g., refinery, chemical plants, power plants), requiring the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and exposure to typical irritants (noise, dust, chemicals).
- Ability and willingness to comply with stringent customer safety requirements, including drug testing and background checks, as required.
- Technical
Skills:
Strong proficiency with computer applications, including Google Suite and MS Office.
- Foundational knowledge of water chemistry, dosage calculations, and standard industrial water applications.
- Basic troubleshooting capabilities with the ability to leverage technical resources under guidance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrating a high attention to detail.
- Developing proficiency with industry-specific digital tools (e.g., CMS, SPG, Argo).
- Strong organizational skills and the capacity to effectively manage multiple assigned tasks and organized technical files.
