Principal Facilities Engineer

BP Energy is seeking a Principal Facilities Engineer to lead design, reliability, and optimization of critical energy facilities in Houston. You will own technical strategy for brownfield and greenfield projects, drive integrity and safety standards, and provide expert guidance on utilities, pipelines, and low carbon assets. Partner with operations, projects, and HSE to resolve complex issues, mentor engineers, and embed best practices that support BP's transition to lower carbon energy while ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead facility design, optimization, and reliability for major BP Energy assets and projects.
• Develop and enforce engineering standards, integrity practices, and process safety requirements.
• Provide expert troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex facility issues.
• Collaborate with operations, projects, and HSE to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant performance.
• Drive low carbon and energy efficiency solutions into brownfield and greenfield projects.
• Mentor and develop engineers, promoting BP's culture of safety, inclusion, and continuous learning.
• Review and approve technical documentation, calculations, and vendor deliverables.
• Support capital planning, risk assessments, and long term asset strategies for critical facilities.
