Rotating Machinery Services (RMS Inc.) is seeking an experienced Design Engineer to join our Houston engineering and operations team. This position applies their academic training to the inspection, disposition, modeling and design calculations associated with assigned product or equipment lines. The Design Engineer will interface with experienced engineers for guidance and training. Daily responsibilities typically involve the review of drawings, review of inspection results, writing technical reports, performance of design calculations, electronic modeling of components, and presentation of results to senior engineering personnel.

Individuals will also be technically involved in remote projects that may include travel to other physical locations in performing field investigation or inspections.

• Design, develop, analyze and document product designs which meet the function, cost, reliability, manufacturability and safety requirements of RMS.
• Assist experienced engineers while developing specialized engineering skills.
• Perform engineering analysis for projects to include preliminary designs and calculations.
• Review inspection reports and render engineering dispositions in accordance with established standards.
• Support design efforts for 2D and 3D CAD layout creation.
• Effectively communicate information to colleagues.
