Electrical Designer

Powell Industries is seeking an Electrical Designer to join our Engineering & Design team in the manufacturing industry. In this role, you will design and document electrical systems, schematics, and panel layouts for industrial equipment, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure safe, manufacturable, and cost-effective solutions. You'll leverage modern CAD tools, adhere to industry standards, and support prototyping and testing.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical systems and schematics for manufacturing equipment and industrial projects
• Create detailed drawings, layouts, and BOMs using CAD tools
• Collaborate with mechanical, software, and production teams to ensure manufacturability and compliance with standards
• Support prototype builds, testing, and design revisions based on performance and feedback
• Ensure designs comply with NEC, UL, and other relevant industry codes and safety standards
• Participate in continuous improvement and innovation initiatives within the Engineering & Design department
