Stantec's Houston, TX office has an opportunity for a Chemical Engineering Intern to join their Water practice. Stantec’s Industrial Water team is a dynamic team of experts working across a wide range of industries including power, datacenters, semiconductors, energy, mining, etc.

The successful candidate will:
  • Have a strong interest in water, especially industrial water, and a desire to build a future career in this field
  • Assist the local project delivery team with report and documentation preparation, project administration, and research assistance
  • Develop process engineering deliverables including BFDs, PFDs, P&IDs, mass and energy balances, equipment sizing, vendor coordination, etc.
  • Prepare technical project reports
  • Assist with proposal development efforts
  • Assist with resolving RFIs and submittals
  • Be willing to visit project sites, participate in hands‑on field learning, and support commissioning activities, if required
  • Be willing to support a variety of projects across different industries, including semiconductors, datacenters, energy, mining, and more
  • Attend project meetings and assist with meeting minutes
  • Other duties as assigned
Your Capabilities and Credentials:
  • Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Working knowledge of process modeling software is a plus but is not required
  • Highly motivated individual
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Must have valid drivers’ license
Education and Experience:
  • Must be currently enrolled in an ABET-accredited bachelor’s or master’s Chemical Engineering program and must be returning to school for their final academic year after the summer internship

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
