Contract Process Simulation Engineer (Aspen Plus)
Contract:
4–6 Months
Our client is seeking an experienced Process Simulation Engineer to support an innovative R&D initiative focused on chemical composition modeling and process simulation. This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll develop and refine simulation models to evaluate complex chemical systems and support research efforts. This opportunity is ideal for someone who has practical experience building and troubleshooting process simulations- not someone whose experience is limited to academic research.
Responsibilities- Develop, modify, and optimize process simulation models using Aspen Plus.
- Model chemical processes and evaluate thermodynamic behavior.
- Analyze simulation results and provide engineering recommendations to the R&D team.
- Support chemical composition studies and process optimization initiatives.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineers and researchers throughout the project.
- Document assumptions, methodologies, and simulation findings.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
- Practical, hands-on experience using Aspen Plus in an industrial or applied engineering environment.
- Experience developing steady-state process simulations.
- Strong understanding of chemical process engineering and thermodynamics.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with technical teams.
- Experience with PC-SAFT Equation of State (EOS).
- Background supporting R&D, pilot plant, or technology development projects.
- Experience with complex fluid systems or specialty chemicals.
- Oil & Gas, energy, petrochemical, or process industry experience is a plus.
We're looking for an engineer who has actually built and used Aspen Plus models to solve real engineering problems. The ideal candidate enjoys troubleshooting complex process behavior, validating simulation results, and working closely with R&D teams to advance new technologies.
