The Aeroderivative Systems Integration Leader (SIL) is a critical role in the systems engineering team to execute package programs in partnership with the cross-discipline engineering team. The SIL may be responsible for a variety of New Product Introduction (NPI) programs for the assigned gas turbine generator package including Options and Product Cost Out (PCO) programs. Systems integration engineering is a cross-functional engineering discipline centered around a systems thinking approach and the product development process. This includes all activities that consider both the business and the technical needs of the customers with the goal of providing a quality product that meets the users needs. Systems engineers execute a robust process of design and system optimization by:
- Evaluating the engineering team ability to meet system requirements
- Developing alternate system design concepts
- Performing engineering trade studies to meet requirements
- Selecting and implementing safe, quality designs
- Verification that the design is properly integrated and executed
