Since Axiom Space is a very complex work environment, we are looking for a resilient, high-energy Manager
- Hardware System Safety, you will be a mid-level leader responsible for leading the Hardware System Safety Engineering team, overseeing Agile delivery, sprint planning, and day-to-day development activities. This role governs adherence to CDISS/CLD requirements documents while ensuring the team meets its delivery commitments. The Manager
- Hardware System Safety, serves as both a technical and people leader, balancing hands-on development oversight with team performance management. This position also focuses on developer talent development, mentoring engineers and supporting their technical growth.

• Leads the Hardware System Safety engineering team, setting technical direction, architecture strategy, and development priorities
• Owns accountability for hardware system safety engineering deliverables, ensuring quality, scalability, and security across products and systems
• Develops and manages budgets, resource plans, and staffing strategies for the hardware system safety engineering organization
• Conducts performance management, career development, and mentorship for software engineering staff
• Partners with product, QA, and executive leadership to align hardware system safety strategy with business and customer needs
• Oversees resolution of complex technical challenges, system architecture decisions, and hardware risk management
• Establishes and enforces hardware development standards, quality practices, and engineering best practices
• Leads recruitment, hiring, and long-term workforce planning for the software engineering team
• Represents hardware system safety engineering in leadership forums, roadmap planning, and executive discussions
• Drives adoption of new technologies, methodologies, and continuous improvement initiatives across the team
• Communicates project progress, status, and potential issues to stakeholders and leadership
• Implements and maintains agile project management methodologies throughout the project lifecycle
• Performs additional job duties as assigned
