Powell Industries is seeking a Field Service Engineer to join our Engineering & Maintenance team in the Energy & Utilities sector. In this role, you will install, commission, troubleshoot, and maintain advanced energy systems and related software-driven technologies at customer sites. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to diagnose complex issues, implement solutions, and train end users. Responsibilities
- Install, commission, and maintain power distribution, protection, and automation systems at customer sites
- Perform on-site diagnostics, testing, and troubleshooting of switch gear, relays, SCADA, and control systems
- Calibrate and configure protective relays and related electrical equipment using engineering tools and software
- Interpret and work from engineering drawings, single-line diagrams, and technical documentation
- Prepare clear and comprehensive service, test, and commissioning reports
- Collaborate with customers, project managers, and design engineers to plan and execute field work
- Provide on-site and remote technical support and training to customer personnel
- Ensure all field activities comply with safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements
- Support system upgrades, retrofits, and integration of new hardware and software solutions
- Provide technical feedback to internal engineering and product teams to drive continuous improvement
