Senior R&D Electrical Engineer

Powell Industries seeks a Senior R&D Electrical Engineer to design and develop advanced electronic systems and embedded solutions for innovative software-driven products. You will lead research, prototyping, and validation of new hardware architectures, collaborating closely with software, product, and UX teams to deliver high-performance, reliable solutions. Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of advanced electronic systems and embedded hardware for software-driven products.
• Conduct research, feasibility studies, and prototyping of new electrical architectures and components.
• Perform circuit design, simulation, PCB layout reviews, and system-level integration.
• Define and execute test plans, validation, and troubleshooting for new and existing designs.
• Collaborate with software, product, and UX teams to align hardware capabilities with product goals.
• Document designs, specifications, and test results following industry and company standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to best practices and design reviews.
• Drive continuous improvement in R&D processes, tools, and methodologies.
