Plains is seeking a Waste Remediation Specialist to manage waste streams across our midstream energy infrastructure. In this role, you will assess sites, characterize hazardous and non-hazardous materials, and oversee safe, compliant handling, transportation, and disposal activities. You will develop remediation plans, maintain detailed environmental and regulatory records, and support audits. Working closely with Operations, HSE, and Engineering, you'll drive waste minimization, incident investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives while promoting Plains' safety-first, performance-driven culture.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee remediation of waste streams from midstream energy operations in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Conduct site assessments, sampling, and classification of hazardous and non hazardous materials
  • Coordinate waste handling, storage, transportation, and disposal with internal teams and approved vendors
  • Develop and implement remediation and waste minimization plans, including tracking and reporting
  • Maintain detailed environmental, safety, and regulatory documentation and support audits
  • Collaborate with Operations, HSE, and Engineering to improve processes and reduce environmental risk
  • Lead or support incident investigations and corrective actions related to waste releases
  • Provide technical guidance and training to field staff on proper waste management procedures
  • Monitor contractor performance, safety compliance, and remediation quality in the field
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and sustainability initiatives across Plains' assets
