Chief Engineer, Mechanical

Jones Lang LaSalle Americas, Inc. is seeking a Chief Engineer, Mechanical to lead the operation, maintenance, and optimization of mechanical and HVAC systems across a portfolio of commercial properties. In this performance-driven, client-focused role, you will develop and oversee preventive maintenance programs, manage capital projects, and ensure compliance with safety and building codes. You'll collaborate with property and project teams to drive energy efficiency, support sustainability goals, and deploy technology-enabled solutions while mentoring engineering staff and supporting high-profile clients.

Responsibilities

• Lead operation, maintenance, and optimization of mechanical, HVAC, and building automation systems across assigned properties.
• Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize system reliability and uptime.
• Oversee mechanical capital projects, from scoping and budgeting to contractor oversight and commissioning.
• Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, safety regulations, and JLL standards.
• Analyze building performance data to drive energy efficiency, sustainability, and cost savings initiatives.
• Manage vendor relationships and service contracts for mechanical and building systems.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering and maintenance staff.
• Support client reporting, budgeting, and long-term asset planning for mechanical systems.
• Coordinate with property management, project management, and sustainability teams on upgrades and retrofits.
• Respond to critical system issues, troubleshoot root causes, and implement corrective actions.
