Canrig Drilling Technology is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Robotics Development Engineer to join our team focused on advancing automation and robotic technologies in the oil and gas sector. This role involves designing, developing, and deploying robotic control systems for supporting drilling operations in challenging environments, primarily in the land drilling sector, on land drilling rigs.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop robotic systems for oil and gas drilling and pipe-handling applications.
  • Integrate sensors and control systems for autonomous drilling, pipe-handling, manipulation, and data acquisition.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to prototype and test robotic control solutions.
  • Develop software for real-time control, telemetry, and remote operation of robotic platforms.
  • Conduct field trials and validation tests.
  • Ensure compliance with industry safety standards and environmental regulations.
  • Analyze performance data and optimize robotic systems.
  • Document engineering processes, test results, and system configurations.
