Instrument Tech

Windrose Surveying & Land Services LLC seeks an Instrument Tech to support field surveying for real estate, energy, and infrastructure projects. Working with a Party Chief, you'll set up and operate total stations and GPS/GNSS equipment, collect accurate field data, stake construction features, and maintain instruments, vehicles, and field records. This field-based role requires strong safety awareness, reliability, and willingness to work outdoors in varying conditions.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot total station and GPS/GNSS survey equipment
• Assist with boundary, construction, ALTA/NSPS, and route surveys
• Collect, check, and record accurate field measurements and notes
• Stake construction features, utilities, and property lines per plans
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area
• Transport, maintain, and secure survey instruments, tools, and supplies
• Read and interpret survey plans, plats, and construction drawings
• Communicate effectively with Party Chief and field/office team
• Work outdoors in varying weather and terrain conditions
• Support data transfer and basic office workflows as needed
